Delthota Divisional Secretariat was Initially Established in an unused owned Building off the Bopitiya road. It was declared open on 12th March 1999. The initial Cadre of this office were two Office Management Assistants, one Office Work Assitant, and one Technical Officer. The first Divisional Secretary of this office was Mrs O.G.W. Makuludeniya.
29 GN divisions that were attached to the Pathahewahata division earlier were taken away and formed this Delthota division.
Delthota Divisional Secretariat was shifted to a newly constructed building on 07th October 2002. Earlier the cadre of this office were 5 Officers with Divisional Secretary. The approved cadre of this office according to committee no. 1227, was Divisional Secretary, Assistant Divisional Secretary, Accountant, Youth Service Officer, Shroff, Book Keeper,12 Management Assistants, Watcher, and 5 Office Work Assistants.
The first Assistant Divisional Secretary of this office was Mr. M.D.M. Samarakkody. Initially, the duty of the account branch of this office was covered by the accountant of the Pathahewaheta Divisional Secretariat Office. The permanent Accountant for this office was appointed in 2005.
According to the government policy of recruitment of graduates to the public service in 2005 many officers were appointed to this office under various ministries. Earlier there were no quarters for this office but in 2007 three quarters were constructed for the divisional secretary, Assistant Divisional Secretary, and Accountant.

From Kandy - Pass Thalathuoya, Marassana, Kanda Junction from Kandy-Marassana road. From Kanda Junction, through the Kolabissa road, come to the Delthota town via Mavussawa. Delthota Divisional Secretariat office is located 100m away from the road near General Market.
